Curriculum Offer

As part of our commitment to helping Bow Street School students reignite their passion for learning, we offer a wide range of awards and qualifications.

Our courses are designed to help young people develop a rounded set of skills that will still be of value in years to come.

Students can study for GCSEs at Bow Street School in English, Mathematics, Science and ICT, at both foundation and higher level. In addition there are the OCR Sports Science Award/ Certificate and the OCR Science Award/ Certificate available.

Bow Street School has a registered examination centre, which means all pupils can sit GCSEs on their premises. We are fully equipped to take a student's SEN requirements into account. So, if a young person needs to sit an exam alone, in the company of an exam reader, or needs to have extra time allocated, this can be arranged.

Functional Skills

Functional Skills are practical skills in English, Maths and ICT for all learners aged 13 and above. Functional Skills provide an individual with essential knowledge, skills and understanding that will enable them to operate confidently, effectively and independently in life and work.

English, Maths and ICT Functional Skills qualifications are available at Entry 1, Entry 2, Entry 3, Level 1 and Level 2. Level 1 & 2 are equivalent to a GCSE qualification.

These qualifications run alongside the main GCSE qualifications but can also be used as a stand-alone qualifications depending on individual needs.
